Biography:

Karen Gillan was born on November 28, 1987 in Inverness, Scotland, UK. At the age of 18, she moved to London to study at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts drama school in the BA Acting degree course.

In 2006, she had her television debut in Rebus as Terry Cotter. She went on to have an on-going role in the sketch comedy series The Kevin Bishop Show.

She was cast as Amy Pond in the British science fiction series Doctor Who in 2009, and appeared in such films as Stacked, New Town Killers, Outcast and Not Another Happy Ending.
