Biography:

Katherine Moennig was born on December 29, 1977 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. She moved to New York City where she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Her career took off after being cast as Jake Pratt in the television series Young Americans. From 2004 to 2008, she gained wider recognition for her role as Shane McCutcheon in The L Word.

She followed this with another lead role in the television series Three Rivers. She has also starred in some films including Love the Hard Way, The Shipping News, Art School Confidential and Everybody’s Fine, among others.
