Kathryn Newton started her acting career when she was four. It was on the soap opera All My Children where she played the role of Colby Chandler. During this period, she also appeared in some short films. She later landed the starring role of Louise Brooks in the CBS sitcom Gary Unmarried, which she starred in from 2008 to 2010. Following this, she appeared with supporting roles in the comedy film Bad Teacher and the horror movie Paranormal Activity 4.
Back on the small screen, she played Mandy in an episode of AMC’s Mad Men, as well as played Emily in 3 episodes of Dog With a Blog. In 2014, she played Claire Novak in The CW’s Supernatural. She simultaneously continued with her career in the movies, starring in such features as The Martial Arts Kid and Mono. From 2016 to 2017, she played Joanie Clark in AMC’s short-lived series Halt and Catch Fire.
Afterward, Newton gained wider recognition for playing Abigail Carlson in HBO’s Big Little Lies, a role she will reprise in this year’s Season 2. Also, she had notable performances in the films Lady Bird, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Blockers, and Ben Is Back. Getting busier with her prolific career in Hollywood, she also played Amy March in the miniseries Little Women. This year, she starred as Lucy Stevens in the film Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. She also currently stars as Allie in the new Netflix series The Society.
The young star’s career has recently taken off with notable performances on big shows and movies. But even as she stays busier, she makes an effort to stay healthy. Of course, she doesn’t worry about diets and staying slim, at least not yet. But she eats healthily anyway because it makes her feel great from the inside out. She also loves eating “bagels and toast and a yogurt parfait”.
