Biography:

Katie Holmes was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 18, 1978. She acted in high school theatre productions before meeting a manager who encouraged her to go to Los Angeles. She then won a part in The Ice Storm in her first audition.

The audition tape was then sent to a production, Dawson’s Creek, which landed her the role of Joey Potter. She achieved fame for her role and the teen drama went on from 1998 to 2003.

Since Dawson’s Creek, her career consisted of film roles such as in Batman Begins, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark and Abandon.
