Biography:

Katy Perry was born on October 25, 1984 in Santa Barbara, California. She began visiting Nashville to gain experience in songwriting and recording demos at the age of 15.

She then pursued a career in gospel music and released her debut studio album, Katy Hudson, in 2001.

In 2007, she signed with Capitol Records and came to fame the following year with the release of her second album, One of the Boys, which produced songs such as I Kissed a Girl and Hot n Cold.

She has received numerous awards and nominations since then, and was named by Billboard as 2012’s Woman of the Year.
