Her first recurring role on TV was as Sheila Ridenhour in Everybody Hates Chris. From 2002 to 2008, Sharp became known for starring as Monica Charles Brooks in the sitcom Girlfriends. In the 2010s, she starred as Gigi in the TBS sitcom Are We There Yet? In 2016, she played the role of Dale Cochran in American Crime Story.
