Biography:

Keri Hilson was born on December 5, 1982 in Decatur, Georgia. She began her singing career at age 14 when she became a member of the girl group D’Signe. After the group disbanded, she attended Emory University in Atlanta.

While attending university, she continued to write songs for artists like Britney Spears and Mary J. Blige. She then signed with Timbaland’s Mosley Music and made her breakthrough when she appeared in Timbaland’s single “The Way I Are”.

Additionally, her debut studio album, In a Perfect World… debuted at No. 4 on the US Billboard 200 Chart. The album produced the hit songs “Knock You Down”, “Turnin Me On” and “I Like”.
