It was in 1975 that Kim Cattrall got her start in the show business. This was when she made her film debut in Rosebud. Her first credited role on television was in the TV movie Good Against Evil. Her first starring role on the big screen was in the sex comedy film Porky’s. She next starred as Cadet Karen Thompson in the movie Police Academy. She went on to star in the films Big Trouble in Little China and Mannequin.
Later in the ’90s, she rose to greater fame when she landed the role of Samantha Jones in the HBO series Sex and the City, which became an international hit. The show also spawned the sequel films Sex and the City and Sex and the City 2. Other film credits include Shortcut to Happiness, Ice Princess, The Ghost Writer, and Meet Monica Velour. In addition, she was the voice of Dee in the animated sitcom Producing Parker. She also played Davina Jackson in the Canadian black comedy series Sensitive Skin.
Aside from a healthy eating plan, which she admits she does by choosing the kinds of foods she eats, the Sex and the City actress also sticks to an active lifestyle. She works out on a regular basis not just for the sake of maintaining a slender figure but for achieving an overall sense of well-being, too. In an interview, she talked about her workout routine. She said:
“I’m part of the Jane Fonda generation where you go for the burn. But as you get older, you have to work even harder, and it’s sometimes a challenge just to get out of bed, even though the rewards are huge. My regime is heavy on cardio because I like to eat. Luckily, my trainer mixes it up, because I get bored easily. I like bands, kettlebells, new and different routines.”
