Kristen Bell was born on July 18, 1980 in Huntington Woods, Michigan, USA. She graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied musical theatre.

She made her Broadway debut as Becky Thatcher in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. She moved to Los Angeles and landed television guest appearances.

In 2004, she made her film debut as Laura Newton in Spartan. She then gained wider recognition and critical praise for her role in the television series Veronica Mars from 2004 to 2007. She will reprise the role in the 2014 film based on the series.
