Biography:

Laura Gómez was born on November 15, 1979 in the Dominican Republic. She started her career in Santo Domingo where she worked as a reporter and actress. When she was 21, she went to the US to study acting. After completing her studies, she started doing work in theater and voice acting. In 2008, she made her television debut in an episode of Law & Order.

She spent more years auditioning for roles before landing her breakthrough role as Blanca Flores in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. While on the show, she also worked on other television projects. She appeared as Selena Cruz in 3 episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Dama Montero in Show Me a Hero. In 2020, she appeared in some episodes of the Dutch series Anne+.
