Biography:
Laura Linney was born on February 5, 1964 in New York City, New York. Her father is the famous playwright Romulus Linney. She graduated from Brown University in 1986 and studied acting at Juilliard and the Arts Theatre School in Moscow.
She came to prominence when she landed the role of Mary Ann Singleton in the miniseries Tales of the City in 1993. She was then cast in a number of major thrillers such as Congo, Primal Fear and Absolute Power.
In 1998, she made her Hollywood breakthrough in The Truman Show, playing Jim Carrey’s on-screen wife, for which she received critical acclaim.
