Laurence Fishburne is an American actor whose Hollywood career started back in the ’70s. He first starred as Joshua “Josh” Hall on the soap opera One Life to Live. On the big screen, he gained recognition for playing Tyrone “Mr. Clean” Miller in Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now. He has since collaborated with Coppola in the films Rumble Fish, The Cotton Club, and Gardens of Stone in the 1980s. He also starred in Steven Spielberg’s The Color Purple and Spike Lee’s School Daze. In the ’90s, he came to wider prominence for playing Jason “Furious” Styles in the movie Boyz n the Hood. He later found international success for his role as Morpheus in The Matrix trilogy films. On TV, he’s best known for playing Dr. Raymond Langston on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Jack Crawford on Hannibal. He currently stars as Earl “Pops” Johnson on the sitcom Black-ish.
