LeAnn Rimes was born on August 28, 1982 in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. She rose to fame at the age of 13 following the release of her debut album Blue, which peaked at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.
The album’s lead single Blue became a Top 10 hit and she achieved national acclaim for her vocal style, which was deemed similar to Patsy Cline’s. In 1997, she released her second album You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs, which saw her develop her craft into country pop.
Throughout her career, she has won multiple awards, including two Grammys, 12 Billboard Music Awards, and one American Music award.
