Biography:

Leisha Hailey was born on July 11, 1971 in Okinawa, Japan. At the age of 17, she moved to New York City to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. With her classmate from the Academy, Heather Grody, she formed the pop duo The Murmurs.

They released multiple albums in the 1990s and toured on the Lilith Fair. In 2001, they changed their name to Gush. The duo eventually split when she became committed with a television project.

Her first major role was as Lucy in the feature All Over Me. She has since starred in other movies like Sleeping Beauties and Fertile Ground. In 2004, she gained wider fame after being cast as Alice Pieszecki in the series The L Word.
