Biography:

Lena Dunham was born on May 13, 1986 in New York City. She attended Oberlin College where she graduated in 2008 with a degree in creative writing. She first gained notice as an actress and filmmaker following the release of her film Tiny Furniture in 2010.

The feature won Best Narrative Feature at South by Southwest Music and Media Conference. She has since starred in other features including The Innkeepers, Nobody Walks, Supporting Characters and This is 40.

In 2012, she gained wider fame for her role as Hannah Horvath in the HBO series Girls, which she also serves as the creator, director, writer, and co-executive producer/executive producer.
