South African-born actress Lesley-Ann Brandt started her acting career in the mid-2000s in New Zealand. Her first main role on the small screen was in Diplomatic Immunity. She next became known for starring as Naevia in Spartacus: Blood and Sand. In the 2010s, she guest-starred on the TV shows Legend of the Seeker, This Is Not My Life and Chuck. She then reprised her role as Naevia in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. In 2010, she made her first movie appearance in The Hopes & Dreams of Gazza Snell. She went on to act in the movies InSight, A Beautiful Soul, and Drift. She next had recurring roles in The Librarians and Single Ladies. Since 2016, she plays the main role of Mazikeen in the TV series Lucifer.
The 36-year-old actress stays in shape by sticking to a healthy lifestyle. For one, she eats clean and healthily. She understands the importance of a balanced diet not only for staying slim but for her general health as well. The reason she looks so young and fresh despite nearing her 40s is her clean diet. In an interview, she was noted for saying:
“Definitely, I try to get 5 servings of fruit and veggies each day, and stay hydrated with water. I lived in New Zealand which is more humid and balmier and so my skin didn’t get so dried out. Here, it is the opposite and I need to stay hydrated and eat healthier. America is land of fast food and snacks! I remember trying to find a cereal with no sugar in the grocery store, it was ridiculous. When I’m on Spartacus, I try to snack healthy and not go for foods that are man made. When I’m running around, and auditioning it’s especially important that I have a healthy snack handy at all times.”
