Biography:

Liam Payne was born on August 29, 1993 in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England, UK. He began showing his talent for singing at a young age but settled on becoming an Olympic runner.

When he missed out on a spot in his school’s team, he decided to focus on singing. At age 14, he auditioned for the fifth series of The X Factor but was told to come back after two years, which he did, and was put into a group after failing to proceed to the “Boys” category.

They performed as a group named One Direction until the end of the show and finished in the third place. They then signed to Simon Cowell’s label and released their first album, Up All Night, in 2011.
