It was in 1986 that actress Lili Taylor got her start in Hollywood. She first appeared with a small role in an episode of the TV show Crime Story. On the big screen, she had her first role as Jojo Barbosa in the film Mystic Pizza. She next had roles in the films Say Anything… and Born on the Fourth of July. In 1990, she gained an Independent Spirit Award nomination for her performance in the film Bright Angel. She finally won an Independent Spirit Award for her role in Household Saints.
During this period, she also established her career with strong performances in the films Short Cuts, Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle, The Addiction, Girls Town, Ransom, The Impostors, and A Slipping-Down Life. Taylor also portrayed Valerie Solanas in the film I Shot Andy Warhol. Before the 1990s ended, the actress guest-starred as Marty Glenn in The X-Files, getting her a Primetime Emmy nomination.
In the 2000s, she came to wider prominence for her role as Lisa Kimmel Fisher in Six Feet Under, getting her another Primetime Emmy nomination. She next starred in the short-lived series State of Mind. During this period, the actress got more active in the movies. She had performances in such films Factotum, The Notorious Bettie Page, The Secret, and Public Enemies, among others. In 2013, she played Carolyn Perron in the horror film The Conjuring. She recently played Dr. Isabella Horn in Eli. From 2015 to 2017, she was part of the main cast of the TV series American Crime.
Lili Taylor tries her best to maintain a fit body by working out and eating conscientiously. In an interview, she talked about her efforts to live a healthier eating lifestyle. For starters, she’s since stopped eating wheat to help alleviate eczema. She also shared how she’s since stopped drinking too much coffee and smoking.
