Louis Garrel is a French actor. He has since ventured into filmmaking. He pursued acting full-time during the 2000s. His first notable role was in the 2003 film The Dreamers. He later starred in the 2005 movie Regular Lovers, which earned him the César Award for Most Promising Actor. He went on to star in many more French films, including Dans Paris, Love Songs, Frontier of the Dawn, The Beautiful Person, and Making Plans for Lena. In the 2010s, he starred in the 2014 film Saint Laurent, which earned him a César Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. The following year, he made his filmmaking debut with the movie Two Friends. In 2017, he was acclaimed for his portrayal of Jean-Luc Godard in the biographical film Redoubtable, a role that got him a César Award nomination for Best Actor. In 2019, he made his international debut playing Alfred Dreyfus in the film An Officer and a Spy. That same year, he played Friedrich Bhaer in the Hollywood movie Little Women.
