Lynda Carter is an American actress. Before acting, she first won the Miss World USA 1972 title. Later in 1975, she rose to fame for playing the titular role in the television series Wonder Woman, which she starred in until 1979. At the same time, she also made her cinematic debut, co-starring in the film Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw. During the ’80s, she mostly acted in television movies. She portrayed Rita Hayworth in the TV film Rita Hayworth: The Love Goddess. She also starred in the short-lived series Partners in Crime. In the 1990s, she starred as Elizabeth Shields in the TV series Hawkeye. She went on to star in the feature films Super Troopers, The Creature of the Sunny Side Up Trailer Park, Sky High, and The Dukes of Hazzard in the 2000s. As of 2016, she plays U.S. President Olivia Marsdin in the CBS series Supergirl.
