Biography:
Maddie Ziegler was born on September 30, 2002 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since she was two, she’s been an active member of Abby Lee Dance Company where she has trained in tap, ballet, lyrical, acro, jazz and aerial dance. She studied at the Sloan Elementary School, but left in 2013 to be homeschooled.
After her mother got a role on Lifetime’s Dance Moms, Ziegler gained recognition as a young dancer. She has appeared in many music videos before making it big with Sia’s “Chandelier”, which received the MTV Award for Best Best Choreography. She later appeared with actor Shia LaBeouf in “Elastic Heart”, also by Sia, which became controversial. She has since pursued a career in acting during her teens, as well as appeared in more reality shows, most notably in So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.
