His first starring role was as Richard Karinsky in the sitcom Caroline in the City. He also portrayed F. Scott Fitzgerald in the film Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle. He went on to star in the films Thirteen Conversations About One Thing, Love in the Time of Money, Adam & Steve, and Grey Gardens. He has also guest-starred in The Good Wife and Blue Bloods.
