Biography:

Malin Akerman was born in Stockholm, Sweden on May 12, 1978. She moved to Canada at the age of two. As a child, she appeared in numerous TV commercials before winning a modeling contract when she was 16.

Her acting debut began in 1997 on the Canadian television series Earth: Final Conflict. Other television appearances eventually followed. In 2007, she gained her first starring role in the film The Heartbreak Kid.

In 2009, she got her big break in the superhero film Watchmen, playing Silk Spectre II, a role which earned her a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress.
