Marilu Henner is an American actress. She started her acting career performing in the original production of the musical Grease in 1971. She later made her cinematic debut in the 1977 film Between the Lines. Her breakout role was as Elaine O’Connor Nardo in the sitcom Taxi, starring on the show from 1977 to 1983. She got five Golden Globe Award nominations for her work here. Also during the ’80s, she had performances in the films Hammett, The Man Who Loved Women, Cannonball Run II, Johnny Dangerously, and Rustlers’ Rhapsody. In the ’90s, she returned to primetime TV as Ava Evans Newton in the CBS sitcom Evening Shade. In the 2010s, she had roles in the films Vamps, Imperfections, and Life with Dog. In 2016, Henner was a contestant in Dancing with the Stars’s Season 23.
