American actress Marina Squerciati got her start in the show business in the late 2000s. She made her film debut in the 2009 feature It’s Complicated. At the same time, she had her first television appearance in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She went on to have guest roles in the shows The Good Wife, Blue Bloods, Damages, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She later appeared as Alessandra Steele in Gossip Girl and Irina in The Americans.
Following this, she had a role in the superhero comedy feature Alter Egos. Her next acting role was in the movie Sparks. In 2014, she started playing the role of Kim Burgess in the NBC series Chicago P.D., for which she has since become known for. She has also reprised her role in the shows Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Meanwhile, her latest role in the movies was in 2017’s Marshall. In addition, she has played small roles in the movies Frances Ha and A Walk Among the Tombstones.
The television star plays a cop in her current show Chicago P.D. To make sure that she stays fit, healthy, and strong for her role, she tries to work out on a regular basis. In an interview, the actress also said that she enjoys working out in the gym because it’s her way of making up for her “sweet addiction”. She explained:
“I really love going to the gym because I have a ginormous sweet addiction. I have to keep that in check. I don’t like training lightly, I like to train hard and put all my body into it. I want to lift heavy weights. I want to do what footballers do. I go to Performance Training Systems, which a couple other cast members go to. It’s an amazing training place.”
