Marla Sokoloff was born on December 19, 1980 in San Francisco, California, United States. She first appeared in an uncredited role in the film So I Married an Axe Murderer.

From 1993 to 1994, she became known for her role as Gia Mahan in Full House. She gained wider recognition for her other notable characters on television such as the part of Jody Lynch in Party of Five and Lucy Hatcher in The Practice.

In 2006, she landed the main role of Alice in the series Big Day. Additionally, her film work includes The Baby-Sitters Club, True Crime, and Dude, Where’s My Car?, among others.
