Biography:
Martin Freeman was born on 8 September 1971 in Aldershot, Hampshire, England. He studied media at the Brooklands College. When he was 15, he joined a theater group. It took him two years then to decide to pursue it professionally. To train, he attended the Central School of Speech and Drama. He made his screen debut in 1997.
His first notable role was as Tim Canterbury on the UK series The Office. This was in the early 2000s. He has since appeared notably on other UK shows like Hardware, The Robinsons, and When Were We Funniest?. In 2010, he got his international breakthrough when he secured the role of Dr. John Watson on Sherlock. His success continued in Hollywood when he starred as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit trilogy.
