Biography:
Matthew Lillard was born on January 24, 1970 in Lansing, Michigan. After high school, he studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. He further his acting training by attending Circle in the Square. In 1990, while still a high school student, he hosted the show SK8-TV. The following year, he made his film debut in Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College.
He then became known for starring as Chip in the 1994 movie Serial Mom. He gained further fame for starring as Stuart “Stu” Macher in Scream. He next starred as Brock Hudson in She’s All That. In 2002, he played Shaggy Rogers in Scooby-Doo, reprising his role in the sequel Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. He’s also voiced the role of Shaggy in many Scooby-Doo animated shows and films. From 2013 to 2014, he played Daniel Frye on The Bridge. This year, he played Bill Hastings on Twin Peaks.
