Matthew Macfadyen is an English actor. His career started in the mid-1990s, debuting on the British sitcom Holding the Baby. He next appeared on the TV movie Wuthering Heights. He later started acting on the big screen in the 2000s as well. His first role was in the movie Maybe Baby. Subsequently, he had performances in the films Enigma, The Reckoning, and In My Father’s Den. He gained further recognition for his role as Fitzwilliam Darcy in the film Pride & Prejudice. He also became known for starring as Tom Quinn on the British series Spooks. He went on to portray John Birt in the historical drama film Frost/Nixon. In the 2000s, he starred in The Three Musketeers, Robin Hood, Anna Karenina, and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. He also currently stars as Tom Wamsgans on the HBO series Succession.
