Biography:
Matthew McConaughey was born on November 4, 1969 in Uvalde, Texas, United States. He finished a degree in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin College of Communication. He started his acting career in 1991 by appearing in commercials. His breakthrough came in 1993 after starring in Dazed and Confused. Subsequently, he starred in Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation and gained further recognition for his lead role in 1996’s A Time to Kill.
He then started the 2000s with the romantic comedies The Wedding Planner and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Other films during this period are Fool’s Gold, Tropic Thunder, Surfer, Dude, and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. He won his first Oscar for Best Actor for his lead role in 2013’s Dallas Buyers Club. Afterwards, he starred in major productions, such as Interstellar.
