Biography:
Matthew Settle was born on September 17, 1969 in Hickory, North Carolina, U.S.. In the mid to late 1990s, he began his career by appearing in a number of made-for-television films before landing his first theatrical role as Will Benson in the 1998 slasher film I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
In 2001, he gained major attention for his role as Capt. Ronald Speirs in the award-winning miniseries Band of Brothers. He then went on to play recurring roles in such television shows as The Practice, ER, The Wedding Bells, Brothers and Sisters, as well as in the 2005 miniseries Into the West. From 2007 to 2012, he gained further recognition for playing Rufus Humphrey, Dan Humphrey’s father in Gossip Girl.
