Biography:
Melissa O’Neil was born on July 12, 1988 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She first gained recognition after joining Canadian Idol Season 3. She made it up to the Top 10 of the competition. Ultimately, she was declared the winner in September 2005. She became the youngest winner in the show, having won at age 17. Soon after, she released her self-titled debut album with the singles “Let It Go” and “Alive”.
In 2010, she made her film debut in Broken Hearts. Some years later, she started a television career, starring as Two/Portia Lin in Dark Matter from 2015-2017. She also had recurring roles on the Canadian shows This Life and Rogue. This year, she had notable roles on the US shows iZombie and Condor. She also recently starred as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC series The Rookie.
