Melonie Diaz is an American actress whose career began in 2001. She first debuted in the film Double Whammy. On TV, she first appeared in the pilot episode of Queens Supreme. After roles in the films Raising Victor Vargas and Lords of Dogtown, she played the young Laurie in the 2006 film A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. She got an Independent Spirit Award nomination for her work here. She then had performances in the films Itty Bitty Titty Committee, Remember the Daze, Feel the Noise, American Son, and Assassination of a High School President. Later in 2013, Diaz became further known for starring as Sophina in the independent film Fruitvale Station. More recently, she gained recognition for her role as Mel Vera in the reboot of Charmed.
