Biography:
Merritt Wever was born on August 11, 1980 in Manhattan, New York City, U.S.. She finished her degree from Sarah Lawrence College. She further trained in acting in New York. In 1995, she made her professional acting debut on the TV movie Blue River. Three years later, she appeared in her first movie in The Hairy Bird. That same time, she also appeared in the film The Adventures of Sebastian Cole.
In 2001, she appeared in the movie Series 7: The Contenders. She then became known for playing Tracey Abernathy in the movie Signs. She later had roles in major films, including Michael Clayton, Into the Wild, and Righteous Kill. On television, her first regular role was as Suzanne on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Her role as Zoey Barkow on Nurse Jackie gained her further prominence. For her work here, she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. From 2015 to 2016, she starred as Dr. Denise Cloyd on The Walking Dead.
