Molly Ringwald was born on February 18, 1968 in Roseville, California, U.S. She started her acting career at age 10 by performing on stage. In 1979, she had her first starring role on the television series The Facts of Life. In 1984, she starred in the movie Sixteen Candles. She later found greater success for her roles in the films The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink.

In the ’90s, she starred on the television shows The Stand and Townies. She also starred in the films Seven Sundays, Malicious, Office Killer, and Teaching Mrs. Tingle. She returned to primetime television as Anne Juergens in The Secret Life of the American Teenager. In 2016, she starred as the lead in the short-lived show Raising Expectations. This year, she starred in the movie SPF-18.
