Morris Chestnut is an American actor whose career started in the early 1990s. His first acting gig was in an episode of the show Freddy’s Nightmares. He next made his film debut in Boyz n the Hood where he also played a starring role. He then starred as Jeff Carswell on the short-lived sitcom Out All Night. He later starred in the movies The Inkwell, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, and G.I. Jane. His performance in the movie The Best Man got him an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture.
In the 2000s, he had starring performances in the movies The Brothers, Two Can Play That Game, Half Past Dead, Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, and The Game Plan, among others. From 2009 to 2011, he also starred as Ryan Nichols on the ABC series V. After this, he played recurring character Luke on American Horror Story: Murder House. He next played Dr. Prentiss on Nurse Jackie. From 2015 to 2017, he played lead role Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr. on the Fox series Rosewood. He also recently played Hakeem Rashad on the Amazon series Goliath.
