Biography:

Natalie Portman was born on June 9, 1981 in Jerusalem, Israel. She and her family settled in New York. She graduated with honors and her academic achievements allowed her to attend Harvard University.

She was pushed to pursue a career in modeling but decided she would rather pursue acting. Her first powerful film debut was in the movie Leon: The Professional.

She received wide recognition as Queen Amidala in Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace. She received an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in her performance as Nina in Black Swan.
