Biography:

Nathan Fillion was born on March 27, 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He studied at the Concordia University College of Alberta, and later enrolled at the University of Alberta.

He made his screen debut in 1993 with the television movie Ordeal in the Arctic. The following year, he became known for his role as Joey Riley Buchanan in the soap opera One Life to Live.

In 1998, he was cast in Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan as Pvt. James Frederick Ryan from Minnesota and gained recognition for his lead role in the series Firefly. He now plays the title character in the crime drama Castle.
