Biography:

Neelam Kothari was born on November 9, 1968 in Hong Kong. During a holiday in Mumbai, she was approached by director Ramesh Behl. She then decided to try acting and starred in the 1984 film Jawaani.

The film was a flop but she managed to move forward with the highly successful 1986 film Ilzaam, for which she gained wider fame. She has since starred in several features in the 1980s including Khudgarz, Aag Hi Aag and many others.

She continued to be prolific in the 1990s with such movies as Agneepath, Dost Garibon Ka, Doodh Ka Karz, Sahebzaade, and Ek Ladka Ek Ladki, among others. She is now a jewellery designer, her family being in the traditional jewellery-making business.
