Nelly Furtado is a Canadian singer-songwriter. She came to prominence upon the release of her debut studio album Whoa, Nelly! in 2000. It had the hit songs “I’m Like a Bird” and “Turn Off the Light”. Her work in the former earned her a Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Award at the Grammys. Her second album Folklore was released in 2003. Her third album, Loose, became her best-selling album with over 12 million copies sold. It also generated the hit songs “Promiscuous”, “Maneater”, “Say It Right”, and “All Good Things (Come to an End)”. Subsequent albums include Mi Plan, The Spirit Indestructible, and The Ride. Furtado has also ventured into acting. In 2015, she appeared in the Canadian film A Date with Miss Fortune.
