Biography:

Nia Long was born on October 30, 1970 in Brooklyn, New York, United States. She began her acting career in 1986 when she appeared in an episode of the series 227.

In 1991, she gained notice after being cast as Katherine ‘Kat’ Speakes in the soap Guiding Light. She then starred as Lisa Wilkes in the hit series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which marked her television breakthrough.

She also became known for her roles in several films including In Too Deep, Boyz n the Hood, Boiler Room, Soul Food, Love Jones, The Best Man, and Big Momma’s House.
