Biography:

Nina Dobrev was born on January 9, 1989 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She moved to Canada when she was two and has lived in Toronto, Ontario since then. She landed some modeling jobs and eventually got into commercials, which then turned into film auditions.

Shortly after, she landed roles in films such as Fugitive Pieces and Away From Her. She also appeared in the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation.

As of 2009, she stars as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on The CW television drama, The Vampire Diaries, for which she won the Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Breakout Star.
