Biography:

Nithya Menen was born on April 8, 1988 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. She attended Manipal Institute of Communication where she studied Journalism. She then decided to be a filmmaker and enrolled for a cinematography course at at the FTI Pune.

She made her screen debut as a child actress, appearing in the English-language film Hanuman (The Monkey Who Knew Too Much). Her next film was the 2005 Kannada feature Seven O’ Clock.

She went on to land her first lead role in the Malayalam feature Akasha Gopuram in 2008, and the following year, she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Kannada film Josh.
