Born Odette Yustman on May 10, 1985 in Los Angeles, California, she began her career with a minor role in the film Kindergarten Cop. After graduating from high school where she was the homecoming queen, she turned to modeling with a few roles through the years.

In 2006, she was cast as Ariella Casta in South Beach. She was then cast in the drama series October Road, which has received its second season.

In 2008, she was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress: Horror/Thriller for Cloverfield.
