Biography:

Olesya Rulin was born on March 17, 1986 in Moscow, Russia. She began her career on Disney television, appearing in various Disney made-for-television movies, including The Poof Point and Halloweentown High. She then appeared as Mindy in the direct-to-video film Urban Legends: Bloody Mary in 2005. That same year, she played a main character in the film Mobsters and Mormons.

Her breakthrough, however, was after being cast for the supporting role of Kelsi Nielsen in the 2006 Disney TV movie High School Musical, a role she has since reprised in 2007’s High School Musical 2 and 2008’s High School Musical 3: Senior Year, though the importance of her role in the latter film was lessened. She has also played main roles in such movies as Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous, Expecting Mary and Family Weekend.
