Biography:
Padmini Kolhapure was born on November 1, 1965 in Maharashtra, India. Her acting career began as a child actress, appearing in the 1976 feature Zindagi. The following year, she was cast in the movie Dream girl.
Her most prominent role as a child was in Raj Kapoor’s 1978 film Satyam Shivam Sundaram. In 1980, she played her most controversial role in the feature Insaaf Ka Tarazu, for which she won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award.
Two years later, she earned her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in the 1982 feature Prem Rog. She has since starred in several other movies including Vidhaata, Pyaar Jhukta Nahin, Pyar Ke Kabil, and Bolo Raam, among others.
