Biography:

Patina Miller was born on November 6, 1984 in Pageland, South Carolina, U.S. She attended Carnegie Mellon University. There, she studied and finished a degree in musical theater. She first became an understudy for the stage production of Sister Act. She made her TV debut in the soap opera All My Children as Pam Henderson. She then landed the role of Deloris Van Cartier in the Broadway production of Sister Act in the early 2010s.

In 2014, she started playing the starring role of Daisy Grant in the CBS series Madam Secretary. She still stars on the show up to present. At the same time, she played Commander Paylor in the movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. She reprised her role in the sequel The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. In 2016, she was the narrator of the program Word Party. She later appeared as Charlotte in 6 episodes of Mercy Street.
