Patrick Bergin is an Irish actor whose career started in the 1980s. During his early years, he appeared in the Irish film Taffin, then in the miniseries Act of Betrayal. After his role in the 1990 movie Mountains of the Moon, Bergin gained recognition for starring opposite Julia Roberts in the Hollywood film Sleeping with the Enemy. He also portrayed the lead role in the British film Robin Hood. The rest of the decade saw him performing in such feature films as Highway to Hell, Patriot Games, The Hummingbird Tree, and Treasure Island, among others. More recently, he’s best known for his role as Aidan Maguire in the BBC soap opera EastEnders.
