Paula Abdul is an American dancer, choreographer, and singer. She was first a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers and went on to become the head cheerleader. At this point, she was discovered by The Jacksons. She then became a prolific choreographer at the time when music videos were booming. She was soon signed to a label, releasing her debut album Forever Your Girl in 1988. The songs Straight Up”, “Forever Your Girl”, “Cold Hearted”, and “Opposites Attract” from her first album all reached Number 1 on the Hot 100 chart. In the 2000s, Abdul served as one of the original judges of American Idol. She has since appeared on other reality competitions such as The X Factor, Live to Dance, and So You Think You Can Dance as a judge.
