Biography:

Paula Garcés was born on March 20, 1974 in Medellín, Colombia. She relocated to New York, USA at a young age. In 1991, she made her debut with an appearance in the movie Hangin’ with the Homeboys. She appeared in three other films in the 1990s – Life with Mikey, Dangerous Minds and Harvest. Her first notable role was as Pilar Santos on the soap opera Guiding Light.

In 2005, she played the role of CSU Tech Millie Vizcarrondo on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Her first main role on the small screen was as Officer Tina Hanlon on The Shield. She played the said role from 2006 to 2008. In 2010, she appeared in 10 episodes of Warehouse 13. In 2013, she played Lea Marquez on the soap opera All My Children. She’s also best known for playing Maria in Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay and its sequel.
